Jose, you being a doctor, I'd like your "professional" view on where this is headed.I know you are nearing the end of your career (do doctors ever really retire) but I wonder if the field is going to lose a bunch of people who just throw their hands up and say "screw it". Every doc I know says it's getting harder and harder to make the kind of income they once made. My own doc, who is about 63 now, tells me he has enough laid back to live out his days and if he can't make a decent wage after the AHCA, why fight it.

Tim, times are bad for physicians... And patients alike.
Excessive regulations and the paper work they required is driving doctors to the edge. In a recent survey to determine the causes of physicians burn out those two I mentioned were at the top, over decreasing payments, work load, etc.
Most physicians can not compete as independent practitioners. They work for the hospital now. A lot of them are in the situation of your doctor, which is where I am: old and facing adversity. So... You give up.
It is going to be interesting to see how numbers play out: ACA is bringing millions of people into the healthcare pool, but who will care for them?
God bless, José

Yeah, we added millions of patients, and not one single doctor or nurse. Think the workload is bad now ?

Society OWES me total maintenance, cradle to grave!!!!!!!!!

Your failure to recognize my status as victim, is lowering my SELF ESTEEM!

It would be funny John, other than that what most of the youth of this country think like. its the entitlement generation. jobs are just for earning money to do fun stuff with. food, shelter, medical, all the necessities should be furnished. I know im preaching to the choir here.
