Well, I'm gettin up real early tomorrow, and gettin Ronald and Ronny Mack to meet at my house. Then we will probably eat at the Awful Waffel in Corydon and then get to BoBs well before daylight. I hope all our friends will be there too.
Hope your doing well John,
I'm headed to bobs as well this morning. Got my self bow and a dozen or so cedars with hex blunts. Taking my sling shot too with a couple bags of marbles just for giggles. Not sure how many are going to show this morning but its the perfect weather for it. I told Todd the other day I was going to bring you a fletching jig, shafts and feathers and put your but to work.. So you will have something to do at rehab!!! If you need anything pal just let me know.

Boys, I don't know why you can get up 2 hours early and you gotta sleep 5 hours to make up for it.
Anyways, you should a been there. Talk about a target rich enviroment. I don't know when I,ve seen so many on one hunt.
There were nine of us and we counted up 47 shots. I aint exaggeratin. When we got there BoB was gettin the coffee ready and a big campfire stoked up. Soon he had his waffel machine runnin in high gear.
It was a brisk morning and you could almost see your breath. Not a breeze was stirring. As we stood around the fire and drank coffee more people started pullin in.
Me, Ron Mc, Dave, BoB, Chris Ash, Milk, Chris from HCA, Bob Utz a fine KY gentelman, and Doug C. Plans were made and right before daylight we all headed out.
BoB has like 800 acres so some drove to the back. Me and Ron headed in the woods right out of the barn yard. We werent barely in the woods and we started hearin squirrels jumpin thru the trees.
I wont tell every moment of our hunt but I will say we were on Squirrels the whole time. I made an unforgetable shot on one and missed by a fraction of an inch.
Later on that morning the breeze kicked up and we headed in. A while later everyone was in and tellin all the stories of their hunt.
Well suppers ready and it aint sq. It's Cubberland Gap Ham. More to come.
I don't know if there was some kind of migration going on or what but everyone saw bunches of Squaques.
After everyone caught their breath a 3-D shoot broke out. BoB had a special small game course set with squirrels, rabbit, crow, grouse, phesant, etc. He had flu luus made up and everyone had to pick one.
Each target counted one point and the last shot you had to knock a walnut out of the big tree in the barn yard. That was five points. Chris Ash won the first round and Milk won the second round.
I'm not one to brag on meself so I'll let someone else tell about my walnut shot.
Any way we all had a great time and I really want to thank BoB for inviting us up.
That's about it oh... wait. There was one kind of strange thing I'll mention. I was looking up so much I kinda lost track of where I was at. I got this real strange feeling and a chill came over me. Suddenly I felt icy fingers goose me. I turned around and Ron was at least 30 yards away from me. I looked around and realized I was standing in the very spot where Ol Jim fell.
I freely admit to being the poorest shot in three counties......but 47 shots and NO SQUIRRELS!! Oh well, it's easy to say from here. You guys need some lessons from Jungle Jim.
Sounds Like a Blast But am Currently using all my Doctoring Skills (Horse doc) to take care of my Gal after a Operation she just had and could not be there However will Be at Club next week can hardly wait too see everyone Hope MR Nail can come and hang aroun camp he's always missed if not there Sqwacks is Proper spelling for the tree rat o saures by the way Hehehehe ~~HBK~~
i like that picture jr. thats about how them squaks were. i hit one about 8yds away on the side of a tree. it fell about 5ft. grabbed hold of the tree and went right back up to the top. hit it with a 38 shell casing arrow. shoud have used a 38 shell bang stick arrow. i dont know what bob feeds them squaks, but they must be drinking some of his good water, cause they sure were tuff to kill. had a great time tho with some good friends and conversation. talked to bob about maybe doing it again, when the squaks are on the ground and a lot closer, so we can use broadheads and maybe someone can kill one of them tuff critters. hope to see everyone this wkend, and the weather should be fantastic for camping. we should have a great wkend.
Den den I probably had 10-15 squirrels, they were all in a big thicket of pignut hickory's. tough litt varmints for sure. We definitely need to do that again...and we will bring hatchet Jim with us.
no pics, Jonathan, but I hold the main body with standard pliers, and then turn up three cutting edges with needle-nose. Make one in the time it took to read this. The key, is for the arrow to stay in the squirrel. It catches on limbs and briars, ect. so you can step on his head.
