Camp Box

I need to build a camp box. I am tired of putting my cooking gear in plastic tubs and bags, cant find anything "which bag is it in?"

A friend of mine has a wooden camp box that was built by a great friend Ben Sandman years ago, I remember Ben would just set it in his vehicle and that was it! unload it where your are camping, the lid raised and the front of it opened down, it had plates bowls forks spoons fry pan & pots, spice rack, clean up supplies and room for his coleman stove on top and several cans of vittles. I was a mobile kitchen. I wish I could get the measurements of Ben's camp box to make my own, but just getting him on the phone is like pulling teeth, much less digging something out of his garage.

Any body on here have any camp box's I can copy off of or plans I could use?

I know exactly what you need. An old wooden army foot locker like they used when John rode with Black Jack Pershing. wink

They are made very strong with reinforced corners, carry handels, locking hasp and a lift out top shelf.

That would make the perfect camp box.

The only other advice I can give is clean it out good first so your food dont all taste like old dirty feet. bleh

You want to make sure it didn't hold Pershing's horse  "Dock rag" in it's previous life............
