Boys, I need to find arrows/shafts for my grandson. He just turned 6. When I talked to him for his birthday he told me he has only 2 left. 

Here he is shooting from a tree and his kid brother retrieves his 2 arrows for him.

Where is the best place? Thanks.

I used to make 'em from 1/4 " dowells from Lowes, cheap, and spined weak enough for kids. If I could ever get the time I'd make some for ya, but I got 2 grandkids myself, and they keep me arrow poor. Best thing to do is give 'em 1 arrow at a time, they look harder for them than.

Thanks guys. We have a Lowe's in town. I will try them first. Over the years I have made a lot of arrows of ramin dowels from the ACE store, but, like many downtown stores, they closed doors 2-3 years ago.

If you want dowels, go to midwestdowel.com this is in Harrison, OH and they will sell in small lots

Thanks guys.
Randy, what size nock do you use for the 1/4 dowel? 9/32"? How do you taper the nock end? I found 1/4" points at 3Rivers that do not require tapering of the shaft.

I just used 5/16 nocks, trimmed down. It aint perfect, but good enough for the kids to shoot cats with ! :)

Jose' I have hundreds of nocks for 1/4" shafts (took them on a trade) I will give you a life time supply, if you'll remind me
