It'll be a while yet. The peak has come for those trying to gouge and make money off it. The problem now will be those (like me) who don't want to get caught like this again and will be doing some stockpiling. That will keep the market tight for a while yet. The ammo companies are running 21 shifts a week and can do no more. The ammo guys have not raised their prices much at all thru this, it's the guys clearing out Walmart and selling on Gunbroker who are causing most of this. I saw one guy who was not a dealer and had over 1500 auctions on Gunbroker for ammo. I also heard a good one today. The ATF showed up at Walmart in Columbus and hauled out the manager of the sporting goods dept. in cuffs. Seems some illegal selling was going on.

That should last you a little while skunkhead, but i'm afraid this shortage will too. I have more than i'll ever need, cause I rarely shoot anything but a .22, but due to the current ammo shortage i'm now stocking up on things that are still available, and cheap, like blackpowder and mostly shotgun shells. The 100 packs at wal-mart are $25. yeah, its just bird shot, but I found an intresting video. where with a pocket knife a simple load of birdshot becomes a slug. Have not tried it yet, but its got to work. The simplicity of it is pure genius.Watch and see and ask you're self, "Why didn't I think of that ?"
Johnny, is that Marlin a 782 or 783? best shooting .22 magnums ever made!!! I have a 783 I bought when I was 18.. Sold it when I was 28 and just got it back in January..
