question

As I am begining to shoot more and more. I'm slowly starting to get a "feel" for this thing called traditional archery. Starting to be able to develop a routine to my shot.

But I'm worried that I may be developing bad habits or wrong form. But then I question  if there really is a "bad habbit, or improper from"??????

I find myself shooting instinctively and not gapping or aiming really. And I tend to snap shoot more than hold at full draw. It seems the more I "think or Aim" the worse my groups are. If i just let her rip.......It seems to just kinda happen. Groups are about 6 inch or less at 12-15 yards. But of cource they widen out the further i go back. So then I feel the need to gap the arrow some. But this really never feels comfortable???????

Guess my main concern is that I will have to unlearn what I have learned if I'm not able to get them any tighter down the road. Or maybe thats just the journey to becoming a true archer?????

key to accuracy in archery is consistent anchor point and consistant release. how you reach anchor is not all that important

Also consistant draw length, which means proper back tension, which is why I like a push/pull draw. Get to anchor and spread those shoulders and you can get more draw length.

Don't overthink it, just have fun with it... If you really want to work on your form,,, Shoot into a hillside, dirt pile, lake dam or somewhere that you won't lose your arrows, with your eyes closed!!Everyone has perfect form when their eyes are closed.
