stout rascal. Can you hold it at full draw for the ubiquitious 10-count?

Maybe not ? I know you had a MOAB at one time but maybe not a Thunderstick II. From what I have learned so far, Jim Reynolds only made the bows with the arrowhead on them for benefit auctions and special occasions. It's signed "Made for John Sloan" and at this point I'm guessing John Sloan the bowhunting writer. I peeled the snakeskin off and got it cleaned up down to the original finish. Pretty bow.

Tim, the 64" ones brace at 7 1/8". Is yours 62"? If so, I'd use 6 1/2 to-7"--the same as a Martin Savannah.

The nock is probably way high for you, because those guys all shoot 3-under. I'd lower it 1/4" to 3/8".  Just sayin'  You bought a good bow, if your form is consistant

Tim, I did have that bow for a few years. Sold it to Sputter last spring, I originally got it from Littlefeather on Tradgang.

It ain't 58 # John.I figured it to be about 55 and it weighs 54 on my scales.I know it's asking a lot Steve but you don't remember the brace height do you? It's at 6 " now and I know that isn't right. I'm going to jack it up to 7 and see how it shoots. Nock height seems high too.

60 inch bow John. Yea, I figured it was high due to 3 under. Got it at 1/4" above and will shoot it tomorrow if I get the time. I've never had much luck with the shorter bows but we will see. It is a smooth drawing bow.If I don't get it lined out I'll take it to the Nail School of Zen Archery.

Let me know if it doesn't tune, and I'll come up and "lay hands" on it 8^)

Well, that's just keeping with the Bow Whisperer tradition. I heard back from Jim Reynolds (Thunderstick) and he does not remember the bow but said that meant nothing, he does not remember most of them, too many.

Did not think to ask. I bumped it up to 7" and shoots pretty darn good. I'll need to have someone who knows to watch the flight so I can make any further adjustments.

I now have the story of the bow. Contacted John Sloan the writer, he had an accident some time ago and was in a coma for a while. Lost a lot of memory, and could not say for sure if he ever owned it. Contacted Curt Kellar of Trad Gang who sold it to Steve. Could not say for sure if it was "that" John Sloan but always assumed so.On a side note, I asked Curt why he was not on Trad Gang anymore, and he said he missed all of us but could not put up with Terry Green anymore. That seems like a reoccurring theme since so many people got over his crap that a whole new website sprung up in rebellion over Terry (Pirates of Archery). Back to the bow, I got an email this AM from a man in Michigan. The bow belonged to his friend there , a John Sloan. That Sloan put the arrowhead on the bow, it is a real stone point knapped by there mutual friend who has since passed away. There's the story of the bow. Maybe not a "celebrity" type story but a good story nonetheless. Actually a man honoring his dead friend makes it more special.

it is a celebrity bow. owned by a national rifle champion. you should put a gun flint on the other side.
