hey guysbiggrin a friend of mine gave me a 6' peice of iron wood about 5 1/2 round and i need some ideas on it, it is still green he cut it today out of a fence row. I got it and took a hatchet and ax and wedges and after some time and lots of pain split this in fours so now what ?confuse thanks

First things first. Do you have Hophornbeam or American Hornbeam ?. For now paint the ends and up from the ends about 8" Set it away to dry. It'll be several months before ready. Find out for sure what you have. If it's American Hornbeam, I'd forget it. Made one, never again.

Thanks for the reply it is hophornbeam I had several people look at it loggers and such so ...

I got a walking stick made of American Hornbeam its hard as a rock but gets more cracks in it every year i Bleave !!
