Hey guys i finally got some arrows fletched and crested i made a cresting jig out of a old singer motor and got out the arizona easy fletch, worked pretty good. I used model car paints for the cresting what do you all think..
Shawn, I use model paint also. You will need to spray a light coat of poly over the crest or it will smear when they go across the shelf.. They look very nice!
I would like to buy arrow shafts and make them up ,and sell some but i don't know where to even start.. best place to get the shafts, what size ect... any ideas?

you have just stated the BIGGEST problem with wood arrows. The old Acme and Sweetland shafts we old fartes loved are long gone. The stuff now is poor grained and mostly kiln dried. Some of it still has resin coming out of it!
That said, almost all the cedar nowdays is from Rose city. You can buy direct. The best shafts are from Raven Archery(Idaho), but he only makes them when he has time, and he's a trapper.
Most people today like 11/32 shafts, but the better quality can usually be had from 23/64ths shafts. I used to make fancy ones, but use them up and break/lose them so quickly that I use plain and cheap stuff now--wipe on Poly and paint pens from X-mart.
My squirrel arrows are fletched with feather seconds that I buy by the pound. I wouldn't use them for serious arrows.
As a general rule, the larger the quanity the cheaper the price, but shafts bought in bulk are not hand spined or weight matched.
Oh, and the most important thing is aligning the grain correctly, learning to get them as straight as possible and CORRECT NOCK ALIGNMENT. Can't emphasize that enough. Crooked nock arrows will NOT shoot
the arrows i made up are goldtip 3555 carbon, i would like to get shafts like that and maybe some for those who like wood arrows , didn't really know were to start thanks john,
