KyTradFest blanket trade.

Randy, there are two types of trade blankets. One is interactive where you do a round robin and moderate the proceedings. The other is just where you assign a time and area and let everyone bring there goods and each part handles their deal separate from others. Both fun, you may want to pole which you guys would prefer.

Some of our Yankee friends have suggested a blanket trade at the tradfest, if you guys are still intrested we can designate a time and place, and ad it to our schedule of events flyer. I will let you guys run the blanket trade as we probably cannot spare the man power for it.The sooner you can let me know, the better, and we can advertise it.

I'm leaving it up to you guys, I think it was Ron, and maybe Billy that talked about it most. You guys run it however you want, and whenever. I would reccomend saturday evening between 4-5:30 pm, just prior to all our other planned activities.

Randy, the best way to do it is like it's done at Cloverdale. Everyone just puts what they have to trade on blankets or tarps. people can see whats there and ask the owner if they would like to trade. that way you dont have to really run it. people just watches their own stuff! A good place i think would be in the field between the club house and where people camp. if it's not raining!

lo these many years ago, blanket trading was a big deal down at Friendship in the Primitive Area. Folks would shoot all day and after dinner put out there trade goods on blankets. You would wander around, looking at stuff and making trades and swaps. It was a lot of fun and good entertainment. The problem was as always there are some who get the almighty dollar in their heads. Eventually, stuff started having small price tags on them. There was some trading but it ended up becoming just a damn "bizarre". It was cash money and no trades, some guys were actually trying to make as living from it and it just ran downhill from there. No no one puts out trade blankets other than actual vendors. No fun at all. The way we do it at ITBA is more fun. Money is not discussed and that in itself keeps the fun in it. Another angle on it. If you are promoting vendors top come to your shoot, they will take a dim view of having a separated "trade blanket "area, because they know it takes money out of their pockets.
