American round

I talked to Dave and we have four target faces for the American round. We will have the first competition Sat.

I belive we decided to shoot 40, 50, and60 yards. Anyone wanting to participate will need six good arrows.

We can shoot three shooters at a time as there will be little chance to hit each others arrows. This can be discussed and decided on.

We will have to choose a good spot that won't interfere with the 3-d course. Preferably in an area that will be easy to find missed shots.

If someone could bring a range finder that will help.

This will consist of 18 total shots.

We need to decide on the cost to play and if we will split the pot or whatever.

We need to decide if you only get one round or if you can pay again and try to improve your score.

We need to decide how to break ties.

We need to decide how to  record the scores, weather by official score keeper, everyone keeps others scores or whatever.

Club rules will apply to equipment as far as no sights, stabilizers etc. but there will be no division of classes.

Everyone should be encouraged to participate and we need to keep it fun.

Let's hear some ideasbiggrin

If you are wanting to do an actual American round, its 5 "ends" (6 arrows) each distance. Or 30 arrows per target, total of 90 shots. We usually started at 40 and moved up, but I think the proper way is starting at 60! Better tell them to bring more than 6 arrows, lose one arrow and you are out of the game! Its fun stuff, i'd like to do it at the TradFest.

I have done it though, several times, and its fun, even though I sucked.
