Merry Christmas!

Well, I don't have a lot of family to visit with like a lot of you do, so my Holidays tend to run together. I guess Easter is my favorite because of the time of year and because of the promise it celebrates.

Christmas seems like it should be about children's faces, good friends old and new, and God's love for his own.

With exception of time inservice, I have always spent Christmas day in the woods.

With luck, tomorrow will be the same.

Today I managed to shoot a squirrel with the new longbow, and plan to share it with you all in a pie at the first shoot. But, tomorrow is for me.

A day when I will shoot some blunts. Maybe build a little fire and soak a teabag at lunch.

Think about life and losses and count my blessings.

I thank God I'm not a desert raghead living in confusion. That I was born free in a Great country, and that I am privileged to call many of you friend.

I WISH YOU ALL A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS, and look forward to our shoots next year.biggrinbiggrin

Right back atcha Johnboy ! A day in the woods sounds like the ultimate celebration for the birth of Jesus. Mine will be a little more crowded and rowdy with kids, and grandkids, but you'res sounds like a nice getaway. Take some pictures, write about, and enjoy it !

Morning's start at brush creek. Nobody else around....in Indiana!

I'm not the only Critter out and about. Reminds me of my old Trapping days. I bought my first car with fur money.

A couple of good friends along, who never fail to amuse

"Straight is the path, and narrow the gate" is a term understood by a hunter on a deer trail--the Bible verse failed to mention the briars

My lunch was a cold sausage sandwich and sweet boiled tea. It was a feast because of where I was, and how hungry!

If I had a wish, it would be to take better pictures. I saw a beautiful red-phase buck and doe, but had the camera in my pocket. He was a keeper!
Got cussed by two gray squirrels. What a beautiful day.

looks like you had a relaxing, and rejuvenating day, time well spent.I love those little folding esbit stoves! I wanted to hit the woods this morning myself, the frost was heavy, and made for a brief "white christmas" . Had to stick around and watch the little ones open presents, it was nice. Merry Christmas everyone.
