Last night Dave called. He had just spoken to the High Sherrif of Scottsburg, Rodney. They have given us three days on the weekend of the Deer Classic on Sept 17th
I think we're gonna call it the Bowmakers Jam. There are several selfbow get togethers around that they call bow bees Somehow that always reminds me of old women with yarn balls or something
The idea we have is to open it up, to all craftsmen that work on things Trad archery related. I don't think I know of any specific glass bow events like this where bowyers could meet and talk to others and showcase their bows. We certainly know quite a few of those fellows. Dale, Steve, Rob Larkin, Loyde Cheek. Herway bows, Mike Miller. The fellow from ohio. How many are interested in making bows that would like to talk to someone experienced ?
It could include all bowyers prim and trad. Also arrowsmiths, knappers, knife makers, leathersmiths, call makers. You get the idea
What would be a good name to call it? Something that would be different and cool sounding Something that would include all aspects of a trad lifestyle Something masculine sounding
Well maybe it's not a good name. Cowels would probably be confused about the love part
As a matter of fact I think he was one of the origional flower children. I think I saw him in that Woodstock movie. He didn't have teeth back then even
Well being as it's still ten days away, going by the current meteorlogical projections and atmospheric conditions, all supported by satellite data. It can be calculated that the weather during that time period will be good.
Furthermore taking into consideration things like the number of cricket chirps, and the way smoke drifts from a camp fire, and the determination of flies to get in the house.
I would say that it will be the best stretch of weather for this time period since 1984
I talked to Doyle. We will have a band saw, tiller tree, shave horse, and plenty hand tools. Doyle will also be knapping. A fellow named Todd, who some of you might remember from Morgantown bow jam will be there too. A good bowyer and interesting guy.
Ronald will be string makin. Eric rocks might make it too. Jim Crit is gonna be there Friday, and he knows a few interested in coming. Norm and Ronnie are interested in bow making and will be there.
I've invited a couple from work that might come look around. More later. DEN
Are you sure JR. You are a free man. You can always hunt monday morn ,that evening, next day all day, wed early and mid day, slip back in about dusk, thur 10:00 till 3:00, All next weekend. Well you get the point.

We was lookin for you all the whole time up there today. Sorry we missed you guys.
Chris, I would say it's a bad idea to show up at Basic with Dolly in your arms
We should have plenty of time for tradin.
I'm gonna suggest at the meeting this year that all active duty military get to shoot free when they are in town. I said ACTIVE DUTY. This wont count for Cowels just cause he was in the War of 1812
