I just got a call from Jeffs daughter Elizabeth. Jeffs been in the hospital for about a week and a half, says he has a lot of fluid on his body. He turned a little worse over the weekend and is in the CCU at Floyd Memorial. I think Dennis and Ron N. were going to try to go over and see him. I'll try to get a little more detail and keep everyone posted.

Well, me and Ronald just got back from the hosp. Jeff is hanging in there but he has a lot of things wrong with him. He was asleep the whole time we was there but I told him we want to see him at the last shoot. Ronald told him he better get well so he don't miss the season. He needs everyones prayers.
Stopped to see Jeff yesterday. He slept while I was there but his family said he had responded to them several times. This had them in good spirits for the day but the doctors are still very guarded about his condition, he still has several serious issues.
Keep the prayers and healing thoughts coming.

me and suzie stopped in there sat , after the shoot . big guy did'nt look well at all. but when i started talking to him, he responded and started to talk to me, but liz steppin in and told him not to talk to me or she would make me leave, he just smiled at me. and stopped talking but i knew he wanted to talk some. from what roweena told me he has a lot of problems and may take a lot of time to recover. just hope and pray for the best...
I stopped to see Jeff after work today and he was awake and in good spirits. He has been improving since I was there Saturday and they took him off one of the sedatives. The doctors said if he continues improving they may try to take him off the vent by this weekend, if that happens he could possibly go to rehab in 7 to 10 days.
Jeffs brother Steve is here from Kansas and I think that is a big boost to Jeff and Rowena both.
Jeff is improving but there is still a long way to go so keep the thoughts and prayers coming.
I'll try to stop in again Friday.

I went and seen him this morning also.. He seemed pretty good and I made him laugh a couple of times! I talked to his wife and she said he will be going for rehab this weekend or early next week. Slow going but at least he's getting better!
I stopped by to see Jeff today. He was sleeping when I got there but he woke up and I got to talk with him a little. They weaned him off the vent Sunday but put him back on it when he sleeps at night. He spent the whole day today off of it and breathing on his own. He also sat up on the side of the bed today but Rowena said it didn't take too long for him to tire and be ready to lay back down. They are trying to find a rehab that can take Jeff and hope that might happen the middle of the week if he continues improving.
Jeff was in good spirits today and it was good to see him smile He is anxious to get started on rehab and get back out in the world. He would really like to come to the Sept. shoot if possible. He is making good improvments but still has a lot to go and some adjustments to make when he gets out.
Rowena said she would let me know if they send him to rehab before I stop in again so I'll keep you posted.

Jeff was up sitting in a chair today when we stopped by, said he had been up most all day. He was actually talking today which suprised me since he still has the trache in. He was drinking ice water today for the first time and said the first drink tasted better than any beer he ever drank but almost anything was better than sucking water out of a sponge.
They are still trying to find a rehab facility and Rowena is going to check one out in Corydon this weekend, until then they are talking of moving Jeff to the TCU this weekend. He has lost over 100 pounds since being in the hospital but still weighs 379#. The doctors say about half of that was fluid on his body. Jeff says he want's to lose another 100# and diet and medications are going to be a challenge but he is commited to making it work.
Jeff asked me to pass on that he greatly appreciates all the thoughts, prayers and visits from everyone. It means alot to him and his family.
It felt good to see the Jeff I know today.

steve, me and suzie stopped in sat. roweena said he's going to rehab in corydon. he was up in his chair and looking 100' percent better than the last time i seen him. still has a long way to go..........
Stopped by to see Jeff this afternoon as I another hospital call at Floyd... sitting up in a chair again today... had his first solid food in 5 weeks I think he said... best pork chop he'd ever eaten... Rowena said they are moving him to Corydon to a rehab there for a bit... probably less than 2 weeks as David said earlier... might even happen in the am... they were going to take the trach out either tonight or in the am...
