No Dennis. Andy,, Jamie Dillon, Jim, John French, Todd, his bud and I shot together on the practice course. Todd and his friend shot on the score course, and the rest of us in one wad. We didn't see Billy, the Rons, et al? JR held forth in a group behind us. NO WAITING at any target. None. Not many folks there. Saw Bob Enlow, but he wasn't shooting.
Dennis, you took a beating for being sissy and not there.
I don't understand why fewer people are going to Cloverdale! It's the best shoot on the planet BAR NONE!! People can say it's the price of gas, or the economy! BULL CRAP! People are still going to Compton and it Sucks!! Oh the price to shoot at Cloverdale is $25 now. What else are you gonna do with your money? take your wife out to eat? people whats more important? TRADITIONAL BOWHUNTING!!!!!!
Well, I did think the $25 fee was a little salty. I know it covered both days, but if you're there for one afternoon with a wife and a couple of 17 year old kids, it's a $100 afternoon.
I've not been able to go for as many years as some of you guys, but my limited experience it was down by 1/4 from last year even... now I'm just talking foot traffic... there may be the same number of shooters, but foot traffic of shooters and just guys and gals wandering was way, way down...
Hate to see it happen as it's fairly close...
gonna have to make a point to shoot the course next year... never have... only the practice course... not sure how much longer they could make this viable in getting vendors there and whatnot with the numbers they have going...
Hate to see it...
Did score another Elburg... but it's a hoss... going to use it as a workout bow... it's a bit stout... 60" - 71# @ 28" Jaguar Special... Need my head examined
Jon & Steve, I know what you mean about addictions, I took 4 bows up to get rid of and brought 2 new boys home. A 70' & 69' bear super kodiaks. Guess I just can't help myself. Today I made a new string for one and tuned them both, to my setup. Been playing with both of them and I do like the way they shoot. One is 53# and the other is 45#. (I did get rid of the other 4)
I know what you guys mean. I had to run when I saw the Jack Harrison longbow. I knew I couldn't leave without making an offer on it, and I was afraid he'd take it! We left quick.
Just walk away, just walk away, just walk away. How do you do that? I'm better than I use to be but..... Sometimes I just can't help it. I use to be real bad with guns. Worse than bows if you can believe that.
