Longbow gone BAD !!!!!!!

Well guys, go a string on my new bow that i made and shot it probly 20-30 times shot great, then i heard splitting looked at it and the dumb bamboo flooring strip that i put on the back to help the poundage had two splits in it I'll tell you i was never so mad in my life.  I thought that i had finally made a shooter bow well i did but i'll tell you one thing no more flooring bamboo for this ol boy thats what cost me this one. live you learn, i'll learn from this one no I took a band saw and cut off the bamboo strip down to the oak and sanded with a big belt sander, now thinking of ether backing it with a piece of hickory, real bamboo backing or just using it for firewoodbiggrin that may be the best thing to do. Just start over with the same idea and use a good backing. I did a little looking around the farm and found lots of osage trees but need info on this, like size of tree and  what i am looking forconfuse later guys,
