STILL KICKN

Went to the holler this afternoon looking for a few good squirrels and seen the buck Ron shot at this year.Watched him vacuum acorns for about an hour on three fingers  before he glided across the ravine to the finger i was on and walked to within 15 yards of me.OOPS.... He froze, dropped his head, took a deep breath, blew once and shot like a rocket to the top of mt. crumpet in what seemed like a second. He is probably 18 inchs wide with 10 goood points. That spot is his core area no dout, rubs every where,14 old home scrapes and five less squirrels. Will definitly set a lockon in the area for next year.Mid 40s guessing

Only picture i have is burnt and smoldering in my mine till next year.If in fact its the same buck Ron missed i see why he was so tore up . First time ive seen this buck, the one i screwed up on was chocolate racked 10, about 20 in. wide and tall tines. The buck i saw yesterday has tall white tines.

Hope to get a shot at either one of them next season, hopefully they survive till next season.

Put them in the crockpot to slow cook.[Tasty they are].

Next bunch ,ill try my hand at making pie. Got to slow down on the meat and taters , have already ate 2 deer, only leaves 6 left for the new year.
