The invisible man

Or why I look like an Iraqui cross dresser.

This year me and Ron McD hunted some public land right outside New Albany. It,s a beautiful place of about 2000 acres. Typical Knobstone escarpment geology. That means big steep hills and deep dark hollows. The main valley there has what they call a perenial stream that was mostly dry this year.

We discovered early on that a true Trophy deer was running that area. A real monster. Probably unkillable for the most part.

It was a huge mature doe. Ron said that she weighs at least 200lbs. I called her Horsehead. This deer, who led a group of four others, busted us almost every time we hunted there. I think she caught me probably 4 or 5 times. Ron even moresmile

This deer would, at the first sign of danger would turn and bolt. No foot stompin and head bobbin, one snort and white flagsno

She caught me one time wearin my gilly suit and sitting dead still. One look and gone. The wind only had to shift once earlier in the morning and two hours later she would come along and pick you off.

The last time I saw her she busted me from 60 or more yards away. The wind was perfect and the rising sun on my backhmm One blow and flags a flyin. She crossed a powerline 150 yds away and I saw it was her and her crew.

I hid that day where me and Ron were to meet up. I was burried in good and saw him cross the creek. A minute later he spotted me. It was my dang glasses giving me away. That's when I came up with this.the scary hunter.JPG

The next time I hunted there I got ****y and set up about 15yds from the last waterhole in that stream. No deer that day but I saw everything else. Birds were all around me. A coon ceme in and got so close I got nervous and moved so it wold run off. The dang thing stared at me for five minutes and walked away. A while later a groundhog came down the hill behind me. I waited till he went behind a tree and turned around to shoot. He was already around and caught me moving. He stared at me for ten minutes at 10 yards and finally walked away. I had a grey sq. three feet away and he was staring at my bow in my hand but never looked at me.

Next weekend was gun season and we hardly saw another deerdisbelief
