OK, those who know me know that I'm a Bow-aholic. I have too many. Never met a bow I didn't like (two exceptions).
Anyway, I propose to donate a Samick Raider longbow in new condition to a kid in the ITBA. Problem is how to do it? If the club will keep track of youth attendance starting in January, we will draw a name at THE TWO-DAY SHOOT NEXT YEAR. This should help youth attendance, and will not require someone to shoot a high score. The bow is 60 inches long, right hand, and weighs 45@28, so it wouldn't be suitable for a 6-year old. We should probably limit entries to kids aged 8-15. Tim Hamblin has offered to make a set of arows to go with it, and I will try to con Cowles in to making a quiver.
None of this is set in stone, and it will require the club to keep attendance record of the youth class.
YOUR INPUT AND SUGGESTIONS ARE WELCOMED, we want this to be fair, and all about the kid.

can the club agree to keep the record? If so, HELP GET THE WORD OUT TO THE KIDS. I figure the kid gets one name in the hat for each shoot he/she attends. More shoots, better the chance of winning.

John, I keep track of all youth and cub shooters anyway. We'll get a coffee can and cut a slot in it. We're gonna have tickets at the shoots for the Dale bow drawing anyway. Bring it to the first shoot.
Randy, you and JR quit tryin to butter him up. This is for youngsters
Very nice offer to all who are donating, especially you John for starting it. The kids are well worth it. I guess Olivia and I will have to make it a point to make a few shoots next year. That is if I can find a break in her basketball schedule. She definitely could use such a bow.

andy this is dave mck.can i ask a rules and reg question from you ? do you have to have an annual hunting lisence along with an archery tag with you when you hunt deer ? not for me i have a lifetime, but a friend asked me.
Can I get pictures of the various donations? I just need pictures about like the one John has of the bow in the first post. I know this may not be possible for some. I'm making up the official coffee can that will hold the tickets.
This is Dennis. I've got a special sealed coffee can made up for this drawing. I would still like to get pictures of the quiver, glove, and arrows. This is a good thing yall doing.
Boys, the new business is keeping me occupied and I do not have the arrows made yet. But I'll have them by the time we give the bow away. Hopefully by after Christmas I can take the parts to work with me and work on them during down time.
