ILF bows

Did any of you switch to or tried ILF bows?

I am seriously thinking about trying them out. Right now looking into the Tradtech Titan and the Hoyt risers. Probably Tradtech Carbon Max recurve limbs and Dryad Epic longbow limbs.

God bless,

José

I shot them for a while Jose... I shot a converted compound riser first... and old Proline riser that had been machined to allow the ILF limbs...

I then went crazy and had to have the latest and greatest and bought the Dalaa on it's second run of risers that 3 Rivers got... shot it for a couple of years and hunted with it too... just lost interest in them last summer...

One thing they did help with was I had tendonitus in my elbow from something... I really tweeked it playing golf and it would flare up when shooting most wood bows... with the extra weight in the riser of the ILF's I got over it and can now shoot most wood bows with no more hurt...

They, the ILF do allow for almost infinate adjustability... tiller, weight... etc and they are stable... I just got to missing the simplicity again...

Jonathan

PS If you want to shoot one... I've still got the Dalaa hanging on a peg... come over and see me one day or we might could meet somewhere and let you fling a few... Just let me know... I'll not be able to make the September shoot again... only made two this year... work and family taking more and more time...

Thanks Jonathan. I may take you up on that offer later on this year.

As it stands now I will not make the last shoot either. I just got back from Maine last weekend and they need me again. The guy that was coming after me could not make it, sooo... I am flying back up there on Tuesday for 2 weeks.

Were you shooting longbow or recurve limbs?

God bless,

José

PS I got rid of my elbow tendinitis with exercises. I still do them every time I go to the "Y".

I always shot the recurve limbs... never messed with the longbow limbs... that's almost heresy isn't it Jose... Bad enough your even looking at a metal riser wink.gif

In fact my first set of limbs developed an issue in the fadeouts on the bottom limb... there was a big bubble that started to raise up... 3 rivers had me send them back and I had a brand new pair in my hands in 3 days...

Jonathan, I must be getting old or something...

I can't believe it myself. Metal riser, tweaking with bolts, etc. I thought trad. archery was supposed to be simple. Heck, that is the reason I like it: simple, weightless bows... Now I am thinking about the 3+ lbs I have to carry around. It may not happen...

God bless,

José

PS It may have to do with that "genuwine" I've been drinking  confuse
