CLOVERDALE

Here are a few shots. Unfortunately my camera sucks, so they didn't all come out. You'll notice Dennis isn't in any of them 'cause he's a........................................ WUSSY!

And lastly...........a shy young maiden!

Well, I am not in there either, but I am less WUSSY than Dennis because at least I showed up.

I found Bud Hall, aka Spudley, whom I had not seen in 10 years or so and he did not want to shoot the long course because he needed to leave early so we shot the practice course. I left about 1300 hours and yes they had to push me out of the parking lot. Early in the day when I woke up I thought about moving my car and park it on the side of the road fearing the "traditional mud", but did not do it and paid for it later. By the time they pushed me out of the mud bath my car had mud all over.

I checked the radar last night and it looked like they were going to get blasted with a lot more rain. But they seemed to have had sunshine all day today.

Good to see you all.

God bless,

José

Number of shooters was WAY down. I don't think we had to wait more than a couple of times.

Times being hard, most of us took our lunches, but a bunch of us bought the $4 ice cream cones (good stuff)

It rained prety hard early in the day. We got our shoot in before it poured again, but it was very humid.

Mud was deep.

We missed you Dennis, because we didn't have anybody to pick on. Todd took a beating in your place, so you owe him.

Not many vendors. Lancaster archery was there with Samick bows, and I bought a Samick Raider longbow. Imagine that.........Sort of like paying child support....

Cowles was trying to steal the Filson from JR, who wasn't going for it.

Steve, I am ashamed to talk about it. Thanks to Jonathan I actually "stole" an Elburg. It is a Jaguar Magnum model, 64" long, 51#@24" (it should be about 54#@25" for me). In pristine shape, dual shelf, boo lams. It is about the same weight as my other Magnum. Sweet.

God bless,

José

I'm glad she went to an Elburg aficionado...

I scored on an Elburg Cougar Recurve... 54# @ 28"... Neat little bow... The limb tips on this rascal are so small... Elm limbs, mix of shedua or walnut and hedge in the riser...

Was hoping to see you guys Saturday, but I forgot about camp... way this years been... oh well as long as it doesn't creep into the hunting wink.gif

John, I do not believe the quality of the pictures is a reflex of the quality of your camera. I believe is secondary to the high humidity and fogging of the lens.

You know the glasses I use to shoot: they are prescription lenses mounted on an old Ray-Ban shooting glasses frame. They ride high on my face. I had never had fogging with those glasses unless I was wearing a mask, well, they were fogging every few minutes while shooting the practice course.

That place was like a steam bath/sauna. I lost 2 lbs that day. Believe it or not... confuse

God bless,

José
