What current bow does the Elberg old traditional compare to? Please don't say Rising Son, I know Adam and them bought the company but I've never shot or seen one of the rising sons either.
Is the Elberg Cherokee a decent bow? and what other bow does it compare to?? I know where there are 2 of the old traditionals for sale 275 a piece and a cherokee selling for 350.
Joe, that guy is going to be in Cloverdale according to his website. I like to see the Cherokee he is selling.
The Cherokee is a very nice bow. I will be using one (and a backup), God willing, on my caribou hunt this coming August.
The Cherokee is a flat bow version of the Jaguar. The Jaguar has deep core narrow limbs and the Cherokee has thinner and wider limbs. I believe Harry was more partial to the Cherokee.
Here is one Jaguar on eBay, but he is asking too much money, copy and paste:
I've never shot one of the traditionals... I have the Condor (kinda Hill like) the Cherokee (see Jose's above) Jaguar Magnum, Specials and a mite...
Yep the one on Ebay is out of sight... I bought a 64" Special just a couple of months ago for 350.00 shipped that has carbon glass on the belly... and it wasn't quite mint but very clean...
Joe, I have not shot the old traditional either. The oldest model I have is a Falcon which is a Hill style with a semi-reverse riser. I believe the Falcon is probably the forerunner of the old Jaguar.
Going back to the one on eBay, it looks like he came down on the starting price. I will keep an eye on it to see what goes on. It seems to be a nice bow and I believe one of a kind because Harry did not make the Jaguar Special in the 64" length for long. All I have seen and owned are/were 60" long.
Next time I visit Harry I am going to bring pencil and paper and get a list of his bow models, lengths, etc. to save for posterity.
