Anybody got anything positive to say about a certain model or brand?

I have an RWS Model 48, and would declare them tops. Mine is a .177 but if they had had the .22 cal back when I bought mine I would have bought it. The .177 will shoot over 1000 fps and the .22 about 600 fps. But that bigger pellet will go a long way on a squirrel. The .177 will do the job but you about have to shoot them as you would a deer.ie: heart and lung shot.
The RWS guns have a very good warranty. I have sent mine back two times, once for a seal and once for a mainspring. Both free repairs.
The boys on the Internet seem to like the Gamo guns too. Less $$ than an RWS and they seem to be good guns.I think they are S. American made.
The RWS guns are heavy but I imagine about all of them are. Myself I would go with a spring gun. They are more consistant than "pump up" guns. Mine has the side lever that you **** it with. Some have the "broken barrel" type system. I'm not fond of those. Buy a cleaning kit for air guns too.You have to be careful what you use on them. The wrong oil or too much oil will cause them to "diesel" Not good.As you know, with a spring gun you have to buy air gun scopes. Any other type will fall apart very quickly.
As well as I like my RWS I would probably buy a Gamo now. The price is better and they seem to be lighter. But I bought mine back before Gamo was around.

Tim is spot on. Also you might go by Jim's and shoot his. I'm suprised how loud some of them are.

Those Gamo are made in Spain and according to the commercial on TV you could kill hogs with them. Powerful stuff.

God bless,

José

PS I grew up with the Benjamins and the Sheridans. I have a pump Benjamin rifle and CO2 cartridge Benjamin pistol.

Just thinking ahead. If this guy gets elected a second term, you probably won't be able to buy ammo for a normal gun...

I have a chinese P.O.S. .177 cal I brought back with me, but it won't shoot twice in the same place. evileye.gif

Well, I went with the Gamo CFX.

I was going to buy the Feinwerkbau 700 for $3300, but couldn't get Dennis to loan me the money.
