Saw a spike buck yesterday and let him pass( he was within 15 yards of my blind at one time, I watched him for 30 minutes eating acorns), and Jim McGowen hunts the same farm and he saw possibly an 8 pointer yesterday traveling with a spike. He couldn't get a good enough look at the larger buck to see if he was something Jim wanted to shoot. We were ML hunting this weekend, as it was Ky's early season for ML. Seeing some sign, lots of rubs and a scrape or two on this place, but first deer we got to set eyes on. There was a guy who hunted this place way too hard and got kicked off the farm, and Jim and I are trying to manage the deer a little better to get some bucks with size to them coming again. Seems to be working, but a couple more years will tell the tale for sure. Bryan

I'll tell him, Dennis! Jim's health was on a kind of slippery slope this past year, with 2 fairly major surgeries, but he is back on track and doing well. I think he and his wife are planning to get to some shoots this year, it will be great to have them back! Of course, seeing those bucks yesterday did him more good than any doctor I think!LOL! Bryan
