I'm still ate up. Deer tick bites can last a little while. Like an eternityfurious  Erin M. was out with one of his pals climbing on cliffs up in the Knobs and got deer tick bites all over him. He got sick a few days later and went to the emergency room and they put him on antibiotics. They feared Lymes disease.
I sprayed my pants again and two pairs of socks with Permanone. I went to Bass Pro a little while ago and got a real light weight long sleave shirt that I'll spray too.
I,ve talked to two other people besides Ronald and me that have recently gotten a lot of deer tick bites. Aperently it's a bad year down here. I'm watching for symptons of Lyme, and Rocky Mountain Spotted fever.
I also ordered something from Amazon.com called bite block. It's all natural, safe ingrediants. That way you can hose down with it and not pickle your liverwinkDEN

Dennis,

We use this stuff:

http://www.bugpage.com/xcart/Martins-10-Permethrin-Quart-p-16262.html

A quart will make about 12 gallons and last several years. I mix a couple ounces in a quart spray bottle and hose down my clothes a day or two in advance and never have a problem with ticks. It dries scent-free. If I've got my clothes treated good, I don't even worry about avoiding places that I know hold ticks.

They say it's OK to use on your pets too (although I don't). I don't recommend drinking it.

I got lazy over the weekend, went in unprotected, I have about 30 bites on my lower right leg.

They itch like crazy but I keep pouring some Rx itch cream on them to keep it at bay.

Maybe it's where I hunt and camp but I have only found one tick this year ( back when the two John's and I went to Hoosier National). No chigger bites and no mosquito problems. Maybe I need to bathe!!??

I've noticed that some places seem to never have tics and some places seem to always have them.

My theory is that places close to big agriculture don't have tics because of the years (decades) of pesticide and fertilizer spreading. Places like Hoosier National that haven't been farmed for 50 or more years (if ever) are full of tics.

Just a theory, of course.

Neil
