Directions to Pickett state park

Hey guys,

I just pulled up directions for our trip on map quest. Since we all know the way to Somerset I started my search from there. From the Days Inn at Somerset to Picket State Park going through Monticello it is 57.5 mi and takes approx. 1hr 43 min. On KY-167 south of Monticello it states portions unpaved but gives no details beyond that.

I used starting point,   125 N Highway 27 Somerset, KY 42503                                                              Ending,   4605 Picket Park Hwy Jamestown, TN 38556

The next search I did from Somerset, KY to Oneida, TN. 50.7 mi and takes approx 1hr 21 min.            Then from Oneida to Pickett. 26.7 mi and approx 57 min. One of the guys I work with said this route is a very steep and winding road through the BSF.

The address I used for Oneida was at the Wallmart in town. 19740 Alberta St, Oneida, TN 37841

57.5 mi, 1hr 43 min

77.4 mi, 2hr 18min

I think I like the shorter route then we can check out some of the local area.

Steve Redden, you may want to check out these directions  and decide what you like since you may be coming in after dark.

You guys got any thoughts or ideas?

Steve

Steve,

I think you heard from Dennis, I won't be able to make the trip. I will be traveling for business and won't get back until the end of the week.

Good luck to all have a safe trip.

I will get back late Friday and should be at the shoot Sat.

Steve R.

Steve,

Yes Dennis told me you couldn't make the trip. I was looking forward to sharing some hunt time with you, maybe next year.

I'm pretty excited about the trip and looking to spend some good times with everyone going. Jeff is coming out tomorrow to help me set the topper on my truck so we can have some dry storage.

Well I gotta get back to putting the final coat of true oil on some tapered ash shafts, gotta make sure I have plenty of good pig arrows.

See you when we get back,

Steve H.
