well really i started two of them , this is the lesser of the two. i hope to learn from it so i can make a grumley out of the other. maybe i should start about 10 more 1st , im kinda slow
I should have told you john, you need to get a string on those recurves as soon as possible. They have real early draw weight and will fool you into a light weight bow. If you are hitting , say, 30 # at 20", you'll be lucky to get a 40# bow out of it. Even if you have to brace it at 5" to begin , it's the way to go.

Oh, and file double nocks on it and use a piece of small rope with loops on both ends as a stringer. Don't use the step thru method. It'll be too heavy in weight and you can screw it up. You can file one of the double nocks off later. Never use a block type stringer on a self bow recurve. I guarantee a hinge if you do.Trust me , I know.

these babys are hard to tiller!!! still not the best but as good as it getting. i still need to add thickness to the handle but it's a bow. i an kind of disapointed becouse it only came out to about 43#. i think i will gain a couple more # when i add to the handle becouse i'll gain around an inch of draw? i hope anyway. plus i still have the other bow shaped out i can work on
