Well, I havn't gotten to deer hunt, and this looks like the first "skunked" season for me in a few.  However, I've sure been hitting the squirrels, and I guess I'll just have to make do with squirrel potpie!

Don't sweat it John, anybody can hit a big ol' deer, but you gotta be good to hit them tiny tree rats, and be willing to build a lot of replacement arrows.
 I used to bust a few, but never could get one cooked to suit me.
 Whats you're secret recipe ?

i think that bow has given you bad luck! bring it to the next shoot and maybe i can give you a few steaks for it.

I know I haven't seen you in a while John, but that sure looks like a recurve to me. Seems I remember you being a longbow kinda guy. What's up wit dat ? Nice pair by the way.

yeah, I've gone back to my youth. I started out shooting a kodiak special. The bow pictured is an Ancient Spirits Kadiak--it's a clone of a 1957 Kodiak.

Here's John's recipe he posted over on TradGang a while back.

I haven't cooked it myself, but I tried John's once at a shoot and it was very good.

Those rats might be easier to hunt but they sure aint easier to hit with a bow. The pie does sound good.
