Flintlock pistols?

\\vault.hanover.edu\home\public_html\Flintlock\1.jpgA guy I know asked if I knew anyone who might be able to give some info on some flintlock pistols he has.  I figured Tim or somebody from the club may be able to help.  Here's some pics.

I'd like to hear if anyone has a guess about them or if they know someone who might.

Thanks.

Neil

I've never seen flint pistols with a detachable buttstock ! They appear English, but here's the thing. Being in a cased set and mostly everything being there (one hammer jaw missing it appears) I would guess this set to be very valuable ! Way out of my pocketbook range. This owner needs to have the appraised by a legitimate appraiser. You won't find one at a local gunshow. He needs to take these to Friendship at the June shoot next year and have Dick Chubb look at them. Seriously, this appears a high dollar item to me. I doubt we are talking hundreds here. I'd sure like to see them in person if it's ever possible.

Any names anywhere on the pistols ? BTW I posted a alink to the pic with the cased set on a M/loading forum I go to frequently, hoping someone can enlighten us. We are likely talking thousands here.

Looks like a Tower set. I'd say pretty pricey, if they're not made in India or something.
Dueling pistols?

There was no writing I could find, however, I didn't take them apart to look at the bottom of the barrels.

There was a hammer jaw in one of the compartments in the case. I didn't notice one missing and assumed it was a spare. I'm not sure why it was removed.

I kinda figured dueling pistols. I don't know where or when he got them. I'll pass along the info about Friendship. I doubt this guy has ever been there.

Tim, if you want to come to the cabin sometime, I could probably arrange for him to come by and bring them. He lives close to our cabin.
