This is Dennis. Ronald came by the house early this morning and brought donuts We sat around a while and then decided to go check out the new boat ramp on the Ohio River. It only took a few minutes to drive up there, and being a state park they charged us $5.00 to get in being as it's a holiday. Ronald tried to talk them down but it didn't work We drove back to the river and only saw one chipmunk, one rabbit, and one comorant. I guess it was a little too late, on a hot day to see any deer. We didn't see anyone else in there and only two trucks at the ramp. The river looked bueatiful. We scouted around for a nice pea gravel beach to fish from, but didn't see anything promising. It's a new area and people haven't discovered it yet. On the way out we drove over to one of the trailhead parking area's and that's where we seen them!!!

We rounded a curve in the road and Ron sez LOOK and a big buck runs across right in front of the Jeep. He's a big bodied deer and looks to be very mature. Here's the part that I find strange. His rack although still in velvet or felt as Ronald says, is really large. I thought they would still have a lot of growing to do yet. He stoped and looked at us just before going into the woods, and I counted 5pts on one side. He was very symetrical so I'd guess he was a ten point. His tines were about seven or so inches long and his rack was wide and tall. All of a sudden Ron says LOOOOOK. Standing ten feet away was the big Dali Lama. I've never been so close to a live Deer that big. Bass Pro has some close, up on their wall. He turned and walked down the road, never crossing untill he was about 40yds behind us. He was at least 20" wide with tines 12" long. His brow tines were at least 10". I never counted how many points cause I was awestruck. He was in full velvet, so no telling how big he'll get.
When he finally juuped a guard rail and dissapered Ronald said, now that was worth $5.00
I told Ron I'd let youall know about him. He was off that unmarked road, near No Name ridge, close to Hidden Creek, right by Shut My Mouth bluff. I hope one of you boys get to see him too
