This is Dennis. Today me, Ron, Billy, and Newt went over to the show. It was very enjoyable as always. We saw Cary. and Mike, and some boys from KTBA. We also ran into Treavor and his lady.
Treavor proudly represented the club in the Mountain Man Challenge. Where you shoot longbow, throw knives and hawks, and spears and atlatls. He shot longbow first and had a good score of 18pts out of 30. Unfortunately the next shooter was little Suzy Brown and she shot a 26. That sounds impossible that an eight year old would out shoot Trev, but I swear she was a gap shooter. Next was tomahawk throw and I'm happy to report, no one was injured. Trev turned in a decent score but the next contestant was little Jhonny Johnson, and he layed the smack down on Trev. In all fairness I noticed he was wearing a Shivley allstars little league shirt. An obvious ringer. Next was the spear throw, and this was where Treavor hit his stride. He wound up tied for first place with little Tommy Thompson. I don't know if there was gonna be a shoot off because it was Tommys nap time.
One thing I'll say is Ron and Billy were afraid of the competition and wouldn't even enter.
All in all it was a good day, and a plesant way to spend a couple hours. Only we were in there 5.5 hours cause there were 30 thousand people there and Ronald had to talk to everyone.
Sounds like a good day full of stiff competition, Dennis! So how did you get Ronald to finally open up, seeing as how he is usually the shy and reserved type? Bryan
