Spring steel longbow

I went to a guys house I met on Tradgang.  He lives about 30 minutes away.  We split a little wood and then talked bows for a while.  He ended up giving me this True Temper spring steel longbow.  I think it was made in the 1920's - 1930's.  It has a U cross section to the limbs.  I believe its a take down but I didn't try to take the limbs out of the cork grip.  The string is not original.  I think they came with a metal string.  We strung it up and shot a couple of arrows out of it.  It's slow with some hand shock/vibration.  He checked the draw weight and got 42 lbs @ 28".

I'd never seen one of those Clint...

My first fishing rod was a steel true temper that my dad had when he was a kid...

We put a few arrows through it. It's slow but seemed to shoot OK.
